A playful look at fonts, power, and perception, exploring how type choices shape culture, politics, and everyday communication
Speaker: Emlyn Firth, Art Director & Designer
An ultra-condensed, sans-bullshit talk about our enduring relationship with typography.
Why do typefaces influence our emotions? How do they convey meaning? Can certain fonts embody a sense of place? And in an age where Calibri has been castigated as “woke”, is choosing a font now a political act?
Whether you’re a design junkie or a typophobe, Emlyn will aim to improve your knowledge of all things font, and boost your confidence in using them, transforming the letters you see every day into something you truly understand.
