Highland dancing is a great way for children (and adults) to keep fit and to meet and interact with others. As well as being fun it teaches children an important part of Scottish culture and heritage and helps them to learn and memorise routines. It is also a great opportunity to build confidence in their abilities and in performing in front of others.
First class is free!
Both boys and girls are welcome!
Classes are open to children aged 5 and over and are split up according to age:
6pm – 6:30pm: 5 & 6 year olds
6:40pm – 7:10pm: 7 & 8 year olds
7:15pm – 8pm: 9 years and above
Beginners will start by learning basic movements and will work towards being able to complete full dances including the Highland Fling and the Sword Dance. There will be opportunities to complete examinations and to compete. This is completely optional – the main goal is for everyone to have fun!
First class is free for everyone. Thereafter discounts are available for block booking and for siblings. Please contact me for further details.
