GEORGE SQUARE
Glasgow’s iconic George Square will be the beating heart of Festival 2018 during Championships time, bringing a carnival atmosphere to the city centre through a programme of free events that will delight all ages and put Glasgow and Scotland’s renowned creativity in the spotlight.
Highlights include a special opening concert, spectacular evening events, international collaborations and all day family fun and play. Buzzing with activity, this will also be the place to relax with delicious Scottish food & drink while catching up with the day’s sporting action on the big screen.

MERCHANT CITY
Merchant City Festival, the centrepiece of Glasgow’s summer events calendar, is back for 2018 presenting the best in Scottish and international arts and entertainment, while showcasing the unique cultural and creative hub that is Glasgow’s Merchant City.
Expect street art, music, dance, design, film, comedy, carnival procession and activities for children & families alongside lively markets and a curated selection of street food. Prepare to be surprised and delighted!

GROUND BREAKING CULTURAL PARTNERSHIP
Festival 2018 will broaden access and engagement through a range of opportunities designed to enable venues and communities across Glasgow and national partner host authorities to get involved in the celebrations.
Through a ground-breaking cultural partnership between Glasgow and 2018 European Championships co-host Berlin, the cultural festival will highlight the creative scenes of both cities in a programme which is truly European in outlook.
