Glasgow Youth Arts Festival
About Glasgow Youth Arts Festival
Monday 30th March - Sunday 19th April 2015
Welcome to Glasgow Youth Arts Hub’s first Youth Arts Festival;
A series of FREE events and performances for children and young people across Glasgow funded through Creative Scotland Time to Shine and Glasgow City Council.
The Youth Arts Festival is a showcase for the work of creative children and young people across Glasgow as well as shining a spotlight on the creative work of the grassroots arts organisations delivering free arts based workshops in your area.
We believe our children and young people are amongst the most creative in the world and we have been working with our youth committees to design an arts festival that not only celebrates their talent but also gives young people an opportunity to experiment with different artforms.
So if you want to try your hand at film, dance, music, drama, storytelling, photography or visual art the Youth Arts Festival is the place to be! Check out our exciting programme of FREE activity below and join in the fun! If you’re not sure about taking part yourself look out for our FREE performances, screenings and exhibitions across the city and be inspired by other young people! We also have a free full day event of activities and performances at “Celebrating Creativity” on Sunday 19th April at Glasgow Green. As well as the chance to see performances and take part in creative activity there will also be information on pursuing a career in the creative industries with advice from a variety of organisations.
Glasgow Youth Arts Hub is funded by Creative Scotland’s Time to Shine fund, managed by Glasgow Connected Arts Network (www.glasgowcan.org) and is a partnership project with multi art form grassroots participative arts companies across Glasgow. Our partners are based throughout the city and have extensive experience of engaging with children and young people from all backgrounds in high quality creative activity. They are Depot Arts, GMAC Film, Impact Arts, New Rhythms for Glasgow, PEEK, Plantation Productions, Platform, Somewhereto_, SWAMP The Village Storytelling Centre and Toonspeak Young People’s Theatre.
The Youth Arts Festival aims to be as inclusive as possible so if you need help with travel costs to any event or activities for yourself or your group please contact Claire on: 0141 553 5401 or email claire@glasgowyouthartshub.org
