RCS Film Making for Young People
About RCS Film Making for Young People
The Conservatoire has been teaching talented creatives for over sixty years now and is recognised as Scotland’s top performing arts training centre. If you are keen to burst into the film industry or improve your existing skill set to help you progress in your studies or career, our screen short courses can help.
During this course, you will develop practical skills in film-making, developing basic skills in all areas of film production.
You will investigate the process of storyboarding, character, plot and dialogue development and develop an understanding of different film and television genres throughout the course. As well as explore existing television content and begin to consider how to develop your own ideas.
Throughout the course, you will learn about planning a product and all aspects of the film that must be considered, including shooting, script development, camera, lighting, editing, sound, production, direction and writing. By the end of the programme you will have developed your skills and knowledge of a range of film and TV genres.
There are no entry requirements, although an interest in film would be beneficial.
