Buchanan Galleries will come alive with the sound of Christmas to bring some festive joy for shoppers.
Guests visiting Buchanan Galleries in December will be able to enjoy performances of Christmas classics and carols by choirs and singers from local primary and secondary schools, as well as the NHS staff choir, who will be performing on Saturday 17th December.
Set against the twinkle of Christmas decorations within the Glasgow shopping centre, the choirs will perform several sessions daily to raise vital funds for Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity, which will go towards helping children in hospital in the West of Scotland this Christmas.
Glasgow-based pianist, Andrew Edmond, will also be playing to guests at Buchanan Galleries every weekend, from 1pm – 3pm, to help spread the festive cheer.
Edmond, who is a local piano teacher with 20 years’ experience, will be leading with renditions of Christmas favourites such as Jingle Bells, White Christmas, and Silent Night, as well as local tunes and songs from across the decades.
Kathy Murdoch, Centre Manager at Buchanan Galleries said, “As we welcome shoppers to Buchanan Galleries this December, we wanted to evoke a warm and festive atmosphere to help spread Christmas cheer.
“It’s a time filled with joy, and in the spirit of Christmas we have invited local choirs and performers to bring the centre alive with the sound of Christmas music. For those shoppers who’d like to give something back to their local community this Christmas, donations will be available to support our charity partner, the Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity, which will help fund life-changing medical care for young people in Scotland.”
Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity has installed a pop-up shop within Buchanan Galleries selling small gifts and items, alongside a gift-wrapping station for those looking to have their Christmas gift expertly wrapped for a small donation.
This December, Buchanan Galleries and Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity are giving one lucky winner the chance to make their Christmas wish come true and jet off to Florida for a holiday in a luxury villa.
