After its hugely successful inaugural year, organisers have revealed that TRNSMT’s over 18s space will return.
The Hangout is the home of the biggest parties with Bongo’s Bingo, stripped back busker sets, ambient DJs and live entertainment. It may be the smallest stage at the festival, but it hosted one of the biggest moments last year, when Glasgow band Travis surprised crowds with their back catalogue of well-loved tracks.
Now, TRNSMT has unveiled the lineup for The Hangout and with some gaps in the schedule it looks like fans will be treated to special secret performances, likely to be announced on the day of the festival
Hangout highlights for 2025 include epic Bongo’s Bingo parties with their fully immersive version of the classic game, famous for dance breaks and big prizes, while Scotland’s most iconic Drag Queens, Miss Lola Fierce at Drag-aoke will offer festivalgoers a daily chance to perform on stage themselves.
Fans of the Who Agrees? podcast with Paul Black and Kendra McPherson can join the duo as they talk all things pop-culture for a live recording of their hilarious podcast, and The Hangout will host pub quiz pioneer Bryce Drennan for the ultimate quiz. The over 18s space will also host DJs and busker sets by Robyn Reid and Jamie Rafferty.
To mark 50 days to go, TRNSMT also unveiled chart-topper James Bay as a special guest on Friday’s bill.
As fans prepare for an incredible weekend, TRNSMT organisers have shared advice to make sure festivalgoers have a weekend to remember with their Avoid Festival FOMO campaign, encouraging fans to be safe. Whether it’s missing the headliner, getting turned away at the gates, or only hearing your favourite artist from the medical tent, some of the top tips for veterans and first-time festivalgoers include:
1. Don’t preload. Or you might not make it past the gates
2. Keep each other safe. Good mates check in, not out.
3. Fake ID = No entry. Don’t risk it.
4. Leave the mixing to the DJs. There is no safe level of drug use.
5. There is no shame in a water break. Drink water regularly throughout the day.
Geoff Ellis, Festival Director of TRNSMT said: “The Hangout became a fan favourite last year, with an unforgettable festival moment from Travis - now one of my personal top moments of TRNSMT’s history. We want to keep making incredible memories for fans and unique spaces like The Hangout with Bongo’s Bingos, Drag-eoke and even more entertainment are really special.”
TRNSMT is on track to sell-out so get your hands on ticket before they’re gone! There are a range of ticket packages, including VIP experiences and fans can find out more about these at www.trnsmtfest.com.
