Glasgow Taxis Cup returns for its 21st year in 2026
Now in its twenty-first year, Glasgow Taxis Cup, will see more than 700 student athletes from Glasgow Caledonian, Strathclyde, and Glasgow universities competing across 17+ sports in 21+ events!

The Glasgow Taxis Cup has more than 700 student athletes from Glasgow Caledonian, Strathclyde, and Glasgow universities competing across 17+ sports in 21+ events, in the biggest one-day student inter-varsity competition across Scotland. Last year’s winner Strathclyde will try to defend their title.
Now in its twenty-first year with event sponsors Glasgow Taxi Ltd (supporting the occasion since 2011). Examples of sports within the competition are Athletics, Basketball, Rugby, Cross Country, Fencing, Snowsports and now with the latest addition of Powerlifting!
The event will take place on Wednesday 25th March 2026 at a multitude of venues across the city throughout the entire day. The winners of the 17+ sports and the overall winning university will then be announced at Scotstoun Sports Campus from 5.45-7.00pm.

"Further it demonstrates a wider commitment to all three universities who we enjoy excellent relationships with. Almost everything that is good in Glasgow is achieved through collaboration and the Glasgow Taxis Cup is a great example of this.
"Finally, while not every student will be or become a Glasgow Taxis customer, many are and many more in the future will be. As it's been 15 years of sponsorship up to now we do hear from many men and women progressing their careers today who were at one of the three universities in the 2010s and remember fondly competing in "the Taxis Cup". That's a bonus legacy and long may it continue."
