Christmas magic is set to return to Glasgow Fort in just a few weeks (Thursday 20th November) as the centre unveils its seasonal line-up, featuring the return of its Christmas Markets, as well as an exciting schedule of Home-Alone-inspired character appearances.
The Christmas Markets will open from Thursday 20th November until Wednesday 31st December, located in the space outside of Primark, bringing a winter wonderland of stalls filled with festive favourites. From artisan food and handcrafted gifts to decorations and stocking fillers.
Visitors can also indulge in a tempting selection of festive bites, with a mix of sweet and savoury treats served up from food stalls dotted around the market - including the awaited return of the beloved Yorkshire pudding wraps and the German bar.
The markets will sit alongside a family funfair, complete with candy cane trampolines and swinging chairs.
And that’s not all – this December, visitors can step into Kevin’s Christmas Adventure: Lost in The Fort! as characters inspired by the festive movie favourite, Home Alone, will roam the centre, meeting shoppers, snapping selfies and sharing plenty of Christmas cheer.
The characters will appear for 30-minute intervals at 11am – 4pm, giving families plenty of chances to capture the festive fun. The line-up includes:
• The Bellhops, complete with chocolate treats and newspaper giveaways – Saturday 22nd November (Note: times for this visit will be from 11am-1:30pm and 2pm -4pm)
• Kevin and the Christmas bandits - Saturday 29th November
• The Pigeon Lady and Reindeer Food Giveaways - Saturday 6th December
• The Big Band (bringing big brass energy and a New York-style soundtrack) - Saturday 13th December
• Kevin and the Christmas bandits return - Saturday 20th December
There will also be a brand-new ‘Guess the Code’ Christmas challenge taking place on Saturday 6th December, inviting visitors to participate in a playful game of guess the code or key at the Bellboy Trolley suitcase steal for the chance to win prizes from Lush, M&S, Wagamama and Boots.
Phil Goodman, centre director at Glasgow Fort, said: “The countdown to Christmas is officially on, and we’re so excited to welcome visitors back for another festive season packed with fun, laughter and plenty of surprises at Glasgow Fort. From markets and fairground rides to Home Alone-inspired characters and a live band, there’s so much for families and friends to enjoy together.
“Whether you’re here for some Christmas shopping, a festive feast or just to soak up the atmosphere, we’ve got everything you need for a brilliant day out.”
