Originally from Canada and now ‘retired’ he (Edward) now lives in Houston, Renfrewshire. Although his favourite past time is meeting and talking to the children, away from his fabulous Grotto he loves nothing better than playing ice hockey, riding his Harley Davidson bike and he recently climbed Ben Nevis.
A former semi-professional ice-hockey player, Edward, who was also a former actor, has worked alongside many leading stars including actress Kiera Knightly.
Jensen Taylor Connelly of Scotland’s Theme Park Events said: “Of course there is never a true substitute for the Big Man himself but let's just say the queues have been out the Grotto since we opened!”
Santa’s Grotto is open daily between 3pm and 9pm and tickets are priced from £12.00 which includes a festive photograph or £15 to also receive a child’s gift. To book tickets at selected times please visit: www.glasgowswinterwonderland.com.
Walk-up tickets may be available on the day however are subject to availability and are charged at a higher ticket price.
This year there are two Winter Wonderlands to enjoy in Glasgow.
Returning to St Enoch Square in the heart of the city, this family favourite event offers lots of new attractions this year including free entertainment.
View Glasgow’s stunning skyline from the comfort of the world’s first solar powered observation wheel, enjoy traditional rides and catch up with friends in the comfort of the Bar Hub for some festive treats and free daily entertainment. Enjoy festive shopping with a choice of bespoke gifts as well as independent food and drink maker and if all that shopping works up an appetite you can sample seasonal foods.
At Winter Wonderland at Glasgow Green visitors can enjoy an open-air Ice Rink for some fun and adventure as well as theatre performances in the Big Top Festive Live including ‘Cinders Fella’ the laugh out loud Glasga themed family mini panto.
Glasgow citizens can enjoy a discount on both the ice-rink and ‘Cinders Fella’ when booking online at glasgowswinterwonderland.com
Enjoy a stop off at the Innis and Gunn vibrant Winter Beer Hall with lots of entertainment and featuring food from Dockyard Social and Cromars Fish and Chips.
There’s a second city Observation Wheel for visitors to enjoy alongside traditional favourite rides such as Venetian Flying Chairs and the Mad Mouse Rollercoaster or for the more adventurous step up to the thrill rides including, for the first time in Glasgow, Air, a thrill ride that will have you hanging in suspension.
The Winter Wonderland at St Enoch Square will be open until Wednesday 24th December and the Winter Wonderland at Glasgow Green will be open until Sunday 4 January.
