Last weekend, the centre launched Kevin’s Christmas Adventure: Lost in The Fort for the first time, where families met the infamous bellhops inspired by Home Alone 2.
From handing out Christmas chocolate to announcing the characters’ impending arrival via free newspapers, the bellhops bought the family-favourite film to life.
Every weekend in the run up to Christmas, families can also enjoy festive fun with the other much-loved characters inspired by the mischievous film, including:
• The Pigeon Lady and reindeer food giveaways - Saturday 6th December
• The Big Band (bringing big brass energy and a New York-style soundtrack) - Saturday 13th December
• Kevin and the Christmas bandits return - Saturday 20th December
The characters will appear in 30-minute intervals between noon and 4pm on the selected dates and will roam throughout the centre.
Alongside the character appearances, Glasgow Fort’s Christmas Market is open until 31st December, located outside Primark, with a selection of festive food, artisan gifts and handmade decorations. Shoppers can enjoy everything from sweet treats and savoury favourites to the return of the Yorkshire pudding wraps and German bar.
On Saturday 6th December, shoppers will also be able to try their hand at the Bellhop Guess the Code challenge. Catch the Bellhops roaming between the Christmas market to the Christmas tree outside next - there will be prizes available from more than 20 retailers, including Lush, M&S, Wagamama and Boots.
Glasgow Fort is once again proud to support FARE’s annual Toy Appeal, now in its sixth year at the centre. The charity works to improve the lives of disadvantaged families in the local community, with the appeal focused on ensuring every child wakes up to a gift on Christmas morning. Shoppers can donate gifts of any size or value - including toys, chocolate treats, cosy pyjamas and bath sets for teenagers - at the on-site donation point located within FARE Skills & Community Hub next to BPerfect and Customer Services.
Phil Goodman, centre director at Glasgow Fort, said: “Christmas is always a special time at Glasgow Fort, and it’s been wonderful to see families and friends coming together to enjoy the festive spirit. Our character visits, markets and seasonal activities are all about creating special moments they can enjoy together.
“We’re also proud to support FARE’s Toy Appeal for another year. The generosity of our visitors makes a real difference to families across Glasgow, it’s a real privilege to play a small part in helping ensure every child feels the magic of Christmas.”
