His brand-new stand-up show, ‘Life After Des’, is a hilarious deep dive into breakdowns and breakthroughs, disasters and do-overs, and the strange joy of starting again when you absolutely did not plan to. From everyday chaos to full-blown personal meltdowns, Des finds the punchline in life’s sharp turns and proves that sometimes the only sensible response is to laugh.
Des said: “I’ve had ten years to gather material — some of it intentional, most of it not. This new show is basically what happens when you hit reset in your forties and realise the instructions are missing. It’s about getting things wrong, getting back up, and trying not to make the same mistake twice. No promises.”
Sharp, self-aware and gloriously honest, this is Des at his very best; older, wiser, and with even better stories.
One of the UK’s most popular comedians and broadcasters, Des is known for his quick wit, high energy and natural warmth. A multi-award-winning stand-up, he has performed around the world — and this marks his first major tour on home turf in over a decade.
A familiar voice across Scotland, Des currently wakes the nation as host of the Heart Breakfast Show and fronts BBC Scotland’s critically acclaimed comedy panel show, ‘Breaking the News’.
