Wellness enthusiasts now have a new reason to unwind in style as Kimpton Blythswood Square Hotel & Spa unveils a new body-sculpting treatment designed to restore balance to both body and mind using the celebrated lymphatic drainage technique.
Developed in partnership with OSKIA, the award-winning luxury skincare brand, the new therapy has been tailored for those seeking a restorative, results-driven treatment within a luxurious spa setting.
Renowned for its wide-ranging benefits, lymphatic drainage helps to improve circulation, reduce fluid retention and ease tension, while leave guests feeling refreshed and revitalised. The therapy is known to promote visible improvement to body shape, tone, definition and skin texture.
When paired with the spa’s award-winning thermal experience and serene environment, the treatment transforms self-care into a truly indulgent journey which has become a popular choice of treatment for those seeking transformative results.
The OSKIA Dynamic Body Sculpting Treatment is a specialised form of manual therapy that encourages the natural drainage of lymph – the fluid responsible for carrying waste products away from tissues and back towards the heart.
Designed to target the legs and stomach, the treatment begins with body brushing to improve skin texture and stimulate circulation, followed by the precise use of specially crafted wooden tools.
Originating from ancient healing traditions, the wooden tools apply consistent pressure to the tissues to stimulate the lymphatic system, reduce swelling, improve circulation, and support natural detoxification. The non-invasive treatment also works to break down fat and cellulite tissue, making it a unique and innovative addition to the spa’s existing offering.
Melissa Gibson, Head of Spa and Leisure at Kimpton Blythswood Square Hotel & Spa, said: “Lymphatic drainage treatments continue to grow in popularity, and we are delighted to meet this demand by offering guests a highly sought-after experience in the exceptional setting of our spa.
“The treatment has been created for guests looking to support their lymphatic system, reduce fluid build-up and inflammation, and improve sluggish circulation. It’s the perfect pre-holiday treatment, but also a fantastic regular addition to any wellness routine.”
Laura Brown, Head of Spa for OSKIA, said: “We’re delighted to be partnering with Spa at Blythswood Square to bring this innovative treatment to Glasgow.
“Unlike traditional massage treatments that focus on relaxing muscles or relieving tension, the OSKIA Dynamic Body Sculpting Treatment is designed specifically to stimulate the lymphatic system and support the body’s natural detoxification processes.
“The techniques are more precise and targeted, focusing on reducing swelling, improving skin texture, and enhancing body contouring rather than working into muscle tension – perfect for promoting definition and body confidence.”
The treatment begins with full-body dry brushing to awaken the lymphatic system, stimulate circulation, and gently exfoliate the skin. OSKIA’s Muscle Recovery Oil is then applied, infused with eucalyptus and peppermint to boost circulation, alongside cypress and black pepper to detoxify, reduce fluid retention, and diminish the appearance of cellulite. Manual techniques are expertly combined with wooden tools to sculpt, contour, and firm the body.
Melissa added: “The guest experience is at the heart of everything we do. While very different from our other treatments, it fits perfectly with our ethos.
“The OSKIA Dynamic Body Sculpting Treatment perfectly complements our Detox journey, helping guests maximise their time in the spa and achieve one of four desired outcomes by the end of their visit.”
Inspired by the Hebridean Islands, the spa features Scotland’s first spa snow shower and Himalayan salt room, alongside a relaxation pool, crystal steam room, and hydrotherapy pool. Each of the four recommended spa journeys - Detox, Relax, Recover, and Invigorate - is rooted in scientific research and developed in collaboration with a specialist spa consultant.
The OSKIA Dynamic Body Sculpting Treatment is priced from £115 (55 minutes) and can be booked here.
