Make Your Own Sculptural Lighting

About Make Your Own Sculptural Lighting

In this ceramics workshop, artist Siobhan Morton will guide you to work with paper clay and white earthenware slip to create a delicate sculptural lighting piece.

This class is perfect to create a special Christmas gift, or to keep for yourself as a statement piece in your home. The making process will involve using plaster molds to support and make shapes from.

You should decide whether you would like to make a pendant for a ceiling light, a shade for a table lamp or several smaller structures for fairy lights beforehand. Please bring your chosen lighting along to the class to work from.

The workshop will consist of two separate days: in the first workshop you will make the structure from paper clay or slip cast pieces, which will then be fired before the final class where you will make any final adjustments to fit them to your light before glazing with clear glaze.
