Step into a world where tradition meets innovation, where ancient hymns intertwine with futuristic sounds.
CHORAL EVENSONG REIMAGINED
Traditionally, Choral Evensong is accompanied by the mighty pipe organ in centuries-old cathedrals and chapels. But this event is no ordinary affair. Here, voices and acoustic instruments meld seamlessly with synthesised digital sounds, pushing the boundaries of imagination.
At this event, gothic arches are not only filled with human voices, but also pulse with electronic music’s rhythms and melodies, creating an intriguing fusion of the past and the present. Composers and producers leverage technology to craft intricate textures and arrangements. Each note, each chord, becomes a brushstroke on a dynamic canvas, painting new sonic landscapes for the soul to explore.
So, if you think you know how religion sounds, think again. Join the University of Glasgow Chapel Choir as they redefine the sacred, venturing into uncharted territories where the reverent meets the revolutionary.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
