Alternative Promotions was originally set up as an alternative to the frightening number of "Pay to Play" promotion outfits which seemed to be swallowing up Glasgow and most of Scotland. Money isn't our motivation, music is.

We don't normally do paid gigs but we always try to make sure the bands involved with ticketed gigs get the better end of the deal. Our main Rock It! Monthly gig is currently free entry and open to local bands as well as those further afield. We're open to working with others in the form of co-pro gigs, developing a "theme" for a particular gig or even arranging a 'drop-in' gig for a well-known local band (where the 'mystery band' isn't announced until the day of the show). Seriously, it's all about the creativity!

As of 2016 we're running an annual charity gig for Cancer Research UK. If you'd like to be involved with this from 2017 onwards, please get in touch.

We're also happy to promote anything music related, from new material to band publicity stunts. Simply send the details to our Facebook page or e-mail address and we'll take it from there!

More recently, we've opened up our Rock It! Unplugged gig to ALL types of live performers, including comedians, improv-groups and almost anything else imaginable.
