GUU organises social affairs for its members, provides value catering and entertainments and generally seeks to enhance the experience of its members during their time at the University of Glasgow and beyond. GUU houses the West Ends largest Night Club (the HIVE), has nine bars, a games room, a Billiards Hall, a shop, Subway, the Union Cafe, two libraries and is the most successfull debating institution in the world, ever.
Students are eligible to become members for free at any point throughout their University career and alumni may become Life Members by applying to the Board of Management.
