Springburn Park is one of the city's highest parks, sitting atop Balgrayhill — the highest point in northern Glasgow and a great spot for panoramic views. On clear days, you can see Ben Lomond, the Campsie Fells, the Kilpatrick Hills, the Trossachs, and even as far as Goat Fell on the Isle of Arran.
It's a popular spot for walking, picnics, and relaxation. Springburn Parkrun (a free weekly 5km timed run) happens every Saturday morning, and there's a junior version on Sundays.
While some areas feel a bit neglected compared to Glasgow's more central parks, community efforts, like recent pitch management transfers to local groups, are helping maintain and improve it.
If you're in north Glasgow, it's worth a visit for the views and quiet escape — especially if the weather co-operates!
