We observe techniques practiced within film and apply this to approaches in drawing and painting.
We’re here to reinvent drawing and painting workshops. To take away that classroom aesthetic. To create a space where you can relax with a drink in one hand and a brush in the other. Listen to some great local artists talk about their work, learn to paint from quality film stills, and enjoy some good chat!
For now, we run one weekly drawing and painting workshop - Draw Paint Film -every Thursday night at 98 Saltmarket.
There is absolutely no need for mastery here. We just want to bring the fun back to painting and drawing. Mistakes are celebrated here!
The classes are all run by Claire Carden McGinlay - winner of the 2019 Alisdair Gray Saltire award and painting graduate from Glasgow School of Art. I will provide demonstrations and as much help as you would like within the class.
Rouken Glen Pottery have been painting ceramics since 2003, we have a bright and airy studio in the southside of Glasgow and can accommodate groups of up to 50.
