Our aim is simple: to create a community arts venue that the town of Ayr can be proud of.
We are bringing a new lease of life to the Darlington Church by opening a Community Cinema, a Community Theatre and a Live Music Venue.
With a Cafe Bar and a large community space that local groups and organisations can use, we want to make sure that our community has a place that they can call home.
Our Community Cinema
The Iris will give our town a cinema that mixes the latest releases with exciting one-off events, a revisit of your favourite classics and films that accurately reflect our community and its residents. A cinema to call your own, The Iris gives the community a say on what they see on the big screen.
Our Community Theatre
An exciting new opportunity for audiences and theatre makers. The Iris will bring a theatre where new playwrights can showcase their work, established producers can bring contemporary and classic plays and community groups can use the medium of drama to share their stories.
Our Live Music Venue
Together with experienced music promoters, The Iris will provide a space dedicated to live music and a diversity of musical tastes. Well loved acts will come to play and emerging musical talent will be offered the chance to begin their journey at The Iris, Ayr's new and exciting live music venue.
