Sophie Gravia, the mum, nurse and best-selling author of ‘A Glasgow Kiss’ will be talking about her book on Saturday, February 5th at the Bookface Book Swap Brunch in Glaschu.
The Bookface Book Swap Brunches are the brainchild of Hollicom PR’s Heather Suttie. The former broadcaster is an avid reader and started the book group on Facebook last year in the midst of the pandemic. The group has now grown to an astonishing 1800 members worldwide and features a book swap, prosecco, brunch and monthly get-together.
This non-profit event sees almost 60 members meet each month, all of them armed with four books to swap with fellow members. It’s the ultimate in low-cost, sustainable book-reading and often sparks an interest among members in other authors.
Debut novelist Sophie will share several of the hilarious anecdotes from her best-selling romcom about modern dating. It became the literary hit of the year and marked the arrival of a bright, new talent in comedy fiction. And the good news for her army of fans is that she’ll be returning with a new book in 2022.
Even though her work as a nurse meant gruelling shifts working in hospital combined with being a mum, Sophie found time to write the book; locate an editor and source an illustrator. She then self-published on Amazon and the rest is 24-carat, Scottish literary history.

The event is hosted by journalist Carla Jenkins and runs from 9.30am-12.30 and includes tea or coffee; a glass of Prosecco and brunch. It’s limited to 60 tickets which are sure to be snapped up quickly.
