Everything you need to know about TRNSMT 2023

TRNSMT returns to Glasgow Green this weekend and the festival has created an essential guide on everything you need to know to help music lovers have the best weekend of the summer!

Everything you need to know about TRNSMT 2023

Last Updated: 3 July 2023 7:37

TRNSMT has a huge weekend in store, with more than 80 artists across four stages including massive headline acts like Pulp, Sam Fender, The 1975, George Ezra, Niall Horan, Becky Hill and Mimi Webb. To make sure fans have an unforgettable weekend, festival organisers have shared helpful hints and tips to get revellers ready ahead of next Friday.

Tickets
Those with General Admission or VIP tickets should download the Ticketmaster app, log in to their account and view their ticket on the app ahead of arriving at Glasgow Green. Viewing the ticket on the Ticketmaster app before coming to the festival will make sure fans can still access it even if they don’t have a signal.

For those experiencing VIP+ or Ultimate VIP, tickets will be posted to you in advance.

ID
Children under the age of 16 are not permitted into TRNSMT. The festival has a dedicated team of stewards who will be at every entrance working to a Challenge 25 policy. So, if you look under 25, you must bring valid ID with you.

If you’re planning on bringing your Young Scot Card, make sure the PASS hologram hasn’t faded, as it’ll not be accepted. And, as always, no photos or photocopies of any ID.

Travel
Where possible, TRNSMT is urging people to use public transport to get to and from Glasgow Green. With plenty of travel options, it's strongly advised that trains, buses and subway services are used to get to Glasgow city centre and then it’s just a short walk to Glasgow Green.
Festival parking is not available, but TRNSMT has identified four locations nearby as drop off and pick up areas. A limited number of blue badge parking spaces are available but must be pre-arranged.

For more information on the best ways to get to the festival, visit the TRNSMT website.

Sustainability
This year, TRNSMT organisers are asking fans to play their part in taking conscious climate action by following the below:
1. Buy vintage, swap clothes with friends or wear what you already have to embrace circular fashion this summer.
2. Reduce emissions by making sustainable travel choices - walk, cycle, or use public transport.
3. Keep the festival site spick and span by using the correct bins. Last year, by composting food and paper cups, enough compost was produced to feed a garden for over 500 years!
4. Bring a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated and reduce plastic waste.
5. Give vegetarian or vegan options a go and reduce the environmental impact of your food.

Don’t Bring List
TRNSMT has a full section on its website on what you can and cannot bring into the event. TRNSMT aims to recycle as much as possible this year, so please don’t bring in any items you shouldn't. Bags and rucksacks are allowed for essential items, but should be smaller than an A4 piece of paper.

Items that fans should not bring include:
• Metal, glass or hard plastic water bottles
• Food or drink
• Glass (including perfumes)
• Flares or smoke canisters (These are dangerous and now illegal to have at large events)
• Flags
• Chairs
• Professional cameras or selfie sticks
• Umbrellas

It’s best to arrive ahead of your favourite performers, in case there are queues at the ID check and searches. TRNSMT have also asked revellers to please be aware that CCTV and Police Detection Dogs will be in use at entrances, ensuring everyone’s safety.

Weather
July in Scotland can be temperamental so, although we’re all hoping for glorious sunshine, please be prepared come rain or shine.
As we all know, Glasgow can see four seasons in a day, with the weather often changing quickly. Be mindful of dressing for all weather types, pack the sunscreen to avoid any burning, and have a jacket for when it gets colder in the evening.

TRNSMT app
The TRNSMT app will be your best friend over festival weekend.

The app has now officially launched, giving fans the most up-to-date information on the festival weekend, along with a map to the site and a special feature that allows them to create a personalised schedule for the full weekend. By ‘favouriting’ must-see acts, fans should keep their notifications on and the app will send reminders so they won’t miss a moment. Don’t worry about your phone running out of juice, as charging points are available at 3Charging by Three, which is at the Needle monument.

To download the free app, visit your app store or the TRNSMT website.

Apple download: apps.apple.com

Android download: play.google.com

Staying Safe
And finally, don’t overdo it with alcohol. Have a spacer, not a chaser, and speak to the nearest security if you need help at any point. TRNSMT has a welfare and wellbeing hub if you need a break, with professionals on hand to provide physical and emotional support if you need it.

Tickets for TRNSMT are available to purchase via trnsmtfest.com, starting at £88.40. Tickets can be purchased on payment plans, where the cost of your ticket will be split into three smaller payments.
