Glasgow Print Studio is delighted to announce the launch of Forevermore, a new limited-edition print by Bobby Bluebell (Robert Hodgens) of The Bluebells, marking the first release in the Studio’s bold new printmaking project Call & Response.
Hand-printed at Glasgow Print Studio by Master Printmakers Scott Campbell and Alistair Gow, Forevermore is an embossed screenprint depicting an inflorescence of bluebells - a motif woven throughout the band’s history. The work bridges past and present, drawing inspiration from Sisters (1984) and The Bluebells’ forthcoming album This Is The Bluebells, due in spring 2026.
A graduate of Glasgow’s former Printing College (now part of Strathclyde University), Bobby has maintained a lifelong connection to the Studio and to visual design, having created sleeves, posters, and flyers for bands and clubs across the city.
“It was the title of our first record release (Forevermore), so it just felt right,” said Bobby Bluebell.
“Working with Claire, Scott, and Alistair was a joy - they made everything easy - and the finished piece turned out exactly how I imagined it.”
Forevermore is available in a limited edition of 50, priced at £200, and will be sold exclusively through Glasgow Print Studio’s gallery and online shop.
The print’s release marks the first chapter of Call & Response - a major new initiative bringing together leading figures from Scotland’s music, fashion, theatre, and design scenes to create original fine art prints in collaboration with Glasgow Print Studio’s Master Printmakers. Participants include Peter Capaldi, Alan Cumming, Franz Ferdinand, Pam Hogg, Greg Hemphill & Julie Nimmo, Ashley Jensen, Sanjeev Kohli, The Pastels, and Kirsty Wark, with more to be announced in the coming months.
Each Call & Response edition directly supports a Glasgow Print Studio Bursary Place, funding access to classes, training, and membership for people who face barriers to participating in the arts.
“Bobby’s Forevermore perfectly captures the spirit of Call & Response - collaboration, creativity, and connection,” said Claire Forsyth, Creative Director of Glasgow Print Studio. “It’s wonderful to see his design background and musical legacy come together so beautifully in print.”
Now in its sixth decade, Glasgow Print Studio remains a cornerstone of Scotland’s cultural landscape - fostering innovation, inclusivity, and excellence in printmaking.
A stellar lineup of nominees has been announced for the Scottish Jazz Awards 2025, showcasing the exceptional talent flourishing across Scotland's vibrant jazz scene.
