New book launches in Busby by local author, Marissa McCudden
Debut author, Marissa McCudden, has launched her new book, 'There's Lots of Different Types of Clever' with illustrator, Michael Spy on Amazon.

This vibrant picture book will resonate with all children, as it emphasises the importance of each and every one of our children’s gifts and talents.
The vision is to build the self-esteem of children who think they are not clever, through the everyday struggles of reading, writing, spelling, maths etc. when their ‘clever’ might lie elsewhere... Sporty, Arty etc.
The duo will bring a much-needed nurturing message to children who may experience the impacts of dyslexia and ASD before being identified or diagnosed as such.
Written in verse and with Gonks posing as a different ‘Clever’, children can easily relate to their own ‘Clever’.
Inspired by her daughter’s own struggles with dyslexia, Marissa had first-hand experience of the challenges faced by children. On top of that, as a primary teacher for nearly 20 years, she saw this as a common theme in the classroom too.
Through one of life’s curve balls, Marissa found the motivation to bring this book to life, but with no knowledge of the industry or where to start. Fate would give her a hand!
After a chance conversation with family, (Michael is extended family) Marissa realised the extent of Michael’s talents and that he happened to be the perfect candidate! He was able to bring her visions to life with his heartwarming and humorous illustrations!
