Visitors will be able to enjoy the sights and sounds of yesteryear with our free vintage bus services to and from the City Centre Kelvingrove Museum and the Riverside Museum. The frequent service will use a selection of historic buses from the GVVT collection together with a number of visiting vehicles. The timetable and map is shown below.
Inside the garage, we’ll have a fine display of buses, commercial vehicles and fire engines again many visiting the garage from elsewhere. We will also have a number of modern buses from today’s operators which will let visitors contrast buses of today with their predecessors from the 20th Century. The vehicle displays also give the visitor insight into all stages of vehicle restoration, from rusting hulks, to preservation in progress and finally to the restored vehicle.
We have our new official GVVT shop, Your Wee Happy Shop, with books, magazines, DVDs, clothing and souvenirs. We will also have a large number of visiting stalls selling souvenirs, books, models, photos and autojumble.
The Model Bus Federation will be bringing their dioramas showing their models in a range of street scenes.
Finally, and not to be forgotten, the Clippie’s Café will be opening serving refreshments and light snacks (including lots of delicious homebaking!)
Admission prices: Adults £8, Concession £7 Child (3-15) £6, Family £22, Carer £2. Weekend pass available (Adults £14, Concession £12, Child £10). Under 3’s are free. Entrance to Bridgeton Bus Garage will be via our Broad Street door. You can pay by cash or card at our cash desk or in advance from our online shop.
