Saturday Art School (Ages 9-13)
The Saturday Art School courses at Studio Pavilion at House for an Art Lover will inspire, entertain and educate children between the ages of 9 and 13!
About Saturday Art School (Ages 9-13)
This six-week course will develop a wide range of skills across drawing, painting and sculpture, expanding the students’ artistic techniques and ways of expression.
In this block, the class will cover the following activities:
Week 1: Still life with color theory (using a color wheel) in the style of Van Gogh, using oil pastels
Week 2: Creating a zine using watercolor and drawing techniques
Week 3: Making fabric landscape collages by sewing various pieces together
Week 4: Crafting a clay noughts and crosses board, including making the board and the small game pieces
Week 5: Painting the clay objects from week 4, and experimenting with different painting techniques
Week 6: Learning to draw portraits, focusing on proportions and various techniques.
Working on these projects in a friendly, supportive environment, the class will be encouraged to experiment with different materials and ideas to stimulate and nurture creativity. The class will look at artists for inspiration to expand their artistic knowledge and skills, and will leave the course with a beautiful collection of work in many different art styles.
