The Mitchell Library Classics Book Group takes place on the first Thursday of every month from 6.30 - 7.30 pm in the Mitchell Library, North Street, Glasgow, G3 7DN. You do not need to be a literary scholar to attend, all we ask is that you have some interest in/appreciation for (undogmatically defined) classic literature!

The group is completely free and the library provides copies of all the titles we select. To give a flavour of the type of thing we will be reading over the coming months, here is a list of the novels currently reserved for us:

The Hunchback of Notre-Dame, Victor Hugo
Wuthering Heights, Emily Brontë
Anna Karenina, Leo Tolstoy
The Last Man, Mary Shelley
Remains of the Day, Kazuo Ishiguro
The Tenant of Wildfell Hall, Anne Brontë

If you would like to attend or enquire about attending please email: GL.BookGroups@glasgowlife.org.uk

Alternatively, feel free to just turn up at one of our meetings on a Thursday evening. We are currently based in the Fairfield Room accessible from the Granville Street entrance to the library, though this may be subject to change so please ask at reception if you are unsure.
