The concert will include songs by Robert Schumann and Franz Schubert, featuring Schumann's song cycle Frauenliebe und Leben.
Lauded for her “strong presence both dramatically and musically” (The Arts Desk) and the “intriguing depth” (MusicOMH) of her portrayals, Beth Taylor is on the onset of a major international career. She has performed with Deutsche Oper Belin, Oper Frankfurt, and Glyndebourne, and is a graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. She is the 3rd prize winner of the 2019 Wigmore Hall Competition.
Hamish Brown is an award-winning and versatile musician, performing as a vocal accompanist, chamber musician, orchestral pianist and soloist in numerous venues across the UK and abroad. He is currently Gilbert & Eileen Edgar and Anthony Saltmarsh Collaborative Piano Fellow at the Royal College of Music, and a Yeoman of the Worshipful Company of Musicians. Hamish is a graduate of the University of Manchester and Royal College of Music, and is a former Britten-Pears Young Artist and Oxford Lieder Young Artist.
Admission to the concert will be by donation, with proceeds going towards the the church organ fund (Scottish Registered Charity no.: SC015683).
