Byres Road & Lanes Business Improvement District, with our partners Glasgow Life, the Gaelic Books Council and Waterstones, are delighted to welcome you back to the sixth Byres Road Book Festival. We have a great range of events that we hope will engage, surprise and entertain all ages and varied interests.
The telling and sharing of stories - true, tall, tremendous or transformational - is fundamental to Glasgow's spirit. Once Upon a Time in the West End, taking place over Glasgow's family- friendly September weekend, will be a celebration of the local and the universal, though never the parochial!
With more than twenty-five events in the programme you can hear from some of the country's most-loved authors, take a paddle or dive into poetry, traverse Britain by church, delve into a literary Q&A, consider the notion of mooshy masculinity, explore new approaches to interior design, enjoy a variety of sessions for children, and much more. Add in a strong twist of Gaelic life (including Paddington!) and you have quite the long weekend.
We look forward to you joining us in the West End for a September weekend crammed with tales, characters, unlikely scenarios, conversations and laughter.
