Esther Norie and Robyn Harris are versatile performers on harp, fiddle and voice. They will perform their own arrangements of popular tunes such as Ae Fond Kiss and Òran an Ròin, as well as original compositions by leading contemporary composers Ailie Robertson and Tamsin Dearnley.
Esther Norie is a harpist, cellist and pianist from Edinburgh. She originally studied Modern Languages but pursued music wherever possible, performing in orchestras and ensembles. She completed her Bachelor of Music with 1st class Honours and was awarded the Goudie Prize from the University of Glasgow. She is also an experienced choral singer, having sung with Sydney Philharmonia Choirs, Edinburgh Royal Choral Union and currently with the University of Glasgow Chapel Choir. Esther is currently an instrumental tutor and wedding harpist and has recorded with other musicians in Glasgow.
Robyn Harris is a violinist and clàrsach player from Glasgow. With a 1st Class MA in Music and Spanish from the University of Glasgow, Robyn has been playing both instruments since her childhood, performing with a variety of orchestras, ensembles and bands across Scotland.
Despite working a full-time job for an Edinburgh-based NGO, Robyn still manages to play regular gigs with her ceilidh band, and to collaborate with musician friends in her spare time.
Admission to the concert is by donation with proceeds going towards the church organ restoration fund. All are welcome to attend!
