Ashanti Harris is an artist working with sculpture and installation to create artworks which celebrate who we are and where we have come from.
In June 2023, volunteers from Glasgow North East residents were invited to exchange stories with Ashanti and work together to create a plaster cast of their face. The project celebrates the cultures and family histories of the Caribbean, Africa and Asia - and explores how these have entangled with Scotland's own.
This new exhibition presents these collaborative artworks of sculpture, collage and textiles which depict the stories shared.
Ashanti has worked collaboratively with Platform to produce the Made in Easterhouse festival day this September, where the new exhibit will launch.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
