Volunteer Glasgow is hosting an Inclusive Volunteering Fair at Glasgow City Chambers on 15th September, 10am-4pm. The event is aimed at people who are traditionally under-represented in volunteering, and/or who may experience barriers to accessing volunteering. But anybody with an interest in volunteering is welcome to attend!
The event will run from 10am – 4pm in the Banqueting Hall at the City Chambers and tea and coffee will be available throughout the day.
We hope that this event will bring together people who may benefit from volunteering with different volunteering opportunity providers from across the city. Many of these provider organisations attended our recent Inclusive Volunteering Event which focused on ways to incorporate an inclusive approach to recruiting and managing volunteers and was designed to enable Volunteer Managers to feel more confident about engaging volunteers who may have experienced barriers to volunteering in the past including refugees & asylum seekers; people with additional support needs; people who have been through the criminal justice system, and young people.
The Volunteering Fair will provide organisations with an opportunity to put their inclusive approach into action, and a chance for people to find out more about opportunities to volunteer and how to get involved.
Volunteer Glasgow will also be there to answer any questions you may have about volunteering generally and to help signpost you to suitable opportunities. You can pop in any time between 10am – 4pm.
The event venue is fully accessible for wheelchair users and venue staff will available to provide assistance if required.
If you have any questions about the event, please feel free to get in touch on 0141 226 3431 or email info@volunteerglasgow.org, and check out our social media for further updates in the run up to the day itself!
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
