There was David. There was Goliath…and there was Glasgow City Council.
But there was “Oor Frances”…an ordinary woman, working a shift, doing some overtime, making ends meet. Like thousands of others.
Only to find out, she had been underpaid by thousands…just like the rest of “the workers”. Why? Because she’s a woman. Showz the money” was her response and a call to action resonated with thousands and thousands of workers across Glasgow City Council: women (and a few men!) fighting for the right…to party? Well of course they had to fight the Labour Party…and a few others…simply for what they were entitled to. Carer or cleansing worker and so many others…underpaid…and overused.
Join “Oor Frances” as she relives the fight for Equal Pay that would result in strike action…and there’s nothing scarier than a bunch of striking wummin! It would bring the City Chambers to a stop…and force them to empty their chamber pot and cough up. A new musical drama full of classic Glesga patter and banter, and a soundtrack of original songs to “strike the message home”.
“Oor Frances. She fought…they won
