In addition, exhibition opportunities for winter and throughout 2024, are now being planned and Skypark is urging community arts projects as well as new and established artists to get in touch with their creative ideas.
Inspired by Katie’s love of Scotland’s coastline and her campervan adventure from Barra up to Lewis, the paintings capture seascapes and beach scenes on canvas to be enjoyed forever.
An admirer of the Scottish Colourists, Anne Redpath and many contemporary Cornish artists, Katie brings her unique style to Skypark as she sets out to donate 10% of sales in support of Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS), the charity for babies and children living with life-shortening conditions. Based in Glasgow, she has exhibited in many art club shows, charity exhibitions and galleries as well as four successful shows at Pittenweem Arts Festival.
Commenting on her solo Skypark exhibition, Katie Littlefield said: “I hope that people will take time out to enjoy my seascape paintings where I have tried to capture the colours and light from sunshine on movement and glorious sunsets, as well as forest scenes, birds and my humorous little people paintings. As a supporter of many charitable causes, I will donate 10% of sales at Skypark to CHAS, a wonderful charity that supports many families across Scotland.”
Skypark’s strategic lettings advisor, Angela Higgins of Resonance Capital, said: “We welcome Katie Littlefield to our donated gallery space, which nurtures the City’s art scene with an alternative platform for artists to display their work. We are open to exhibition ideas from community art projects and artists, who may want to show their work at Skypark in the coming year.”
Please contact reception@skypark-glasgow.com for more information on exhibiting in Skypark’s donated gallery space.
