Darren Connell is an acclaimed actor and comedian from Springburn, Glasgow. He’s best known for his role as Bobby in BBC Scotland’s hit comedy Scot Squad, for which he was nominated for a BAFTA. Since being persuaded by Kevin Bridges to take up comedy full time, he’s been in high demand both on and off screen, having sold out shows at comedy festivals, hosted popular podcasts and been nominated for awards.
“Extremely likeable… his easy rapport with his audience and chunky, rather sadsack quality extending him the credit for an occasional, more calculated, dark gag.” – Chortle
“A dark talent that feels like it's going places.” – The Scotsman
“A gritty, dry Scottish sense of humour that keeps the audience in stitches throughout the show.” – Broadway Baby
Opening the show will be award-winning Scottish actress and comedian Rachel Jackson. She has been nominated for a number of awards, including at The Scottish Variety Awards, The Scottish Comedy Awards and the All The Laughs Comedy Awards in Atlanta, Georgia. Her TV roles are numerous with parts in ‘Outlander’, ‘Still Game’ (BBC1) ‘Two Doors Down’ (BBC2) and Scot Squad (BBC1). If you haven’t seen Rachel on any of these, she was also the face of Irn-Bru in a nationwide advertising campaign.
