Baltimore singer-songwriter and producer, Nourished By Time releases Catching Chickens, his debut EP on XL Recordings. Catching Chickens takes inspiration from the iconic scene in Rocky II where his trainer makes him chase and catch chickens as a test of agility. Written between 2022-2023 from his home studio in Baltimore, Nourished By Time chronicles his own test of agility across the five-track EP as he weaves through the motions of his newfound notability. Now available digitally and to buy as a limited-edition white label vinyl. The official physical release is on 3 May, pre-order is available now.
Catching Chickens is the first bit of new music from Nourished By Time since Erotic Probiotic 2, his critically acclaimed debut album that picked up Pitchfork’s 'Best New Music' and was widely regarded as one of the ‘Best Albums of 2023’ with features on Gorilla vs Bear (#1), Pitchfork (#5), The Guardian, The Fader, Paste and more. In the same year, Nourished By Time collaborated with Yaeji on “Happy” for her debut album With A Hammer and remixed Dry Cleaning’s “Gary Ashby”, who he also supported on tour. Meanwhile, he embarked across Europe for his debut headline tour before returning to the US to open for Vagabon.
Nourished By Time announces a run of headline tour dates in North America, for the first time, and the UK. The upcoming tour will kick off on June 8 and see the formidable talent headline venues in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, Leeds, Glasgow, Manchester, London, Bristol and more.
