Renowned author Chris Brookmyre is set to celebrate the launch of his most ambitious novel yet, The Cracked Mirror on Saturday, July 27th, 2024, from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm at August House in Glasgow. This exclusive event guarantees an unforgettable fusion of sipping, swapping, and storytelling.
Chris Brookmyre's illustrious career spans over 25 years and guests will enjoy a 45 min interview about his latest release. With its cross-genre allure akin to Agatha Christie meets Michael Connelly, The Cracked Mirror promises to be the most imaginative and entertaining crime story of the year, offering readers a thrilling rollercoaster ride of emotions and revelations.
Meet Penny Coyne, the little old lady with a razor-sharp mind who has defied odds to solve multiple murders in her otherwise sleepy village, despite the bumbling local police. Then, there's Johnny Hawke, the hard-bitten LAPD homicide detective, always at odds with his captain and losing partners, yet relentless in his pursuit of truth, no matter the cost. Their worlds are about to collide in a mesmerising tale of mystery and intrigue.
The Bookface Sip & Swap event offers the ultimate book lover's delight with the hugely successful book swap. Indulge your literary cravings with a curated collection of over 200 captivating titles while mingling with fellow book enthusiasts. Guests will have the opportunity to buy Chris’s books and meet him at the event. Tickets for this exclusive event include two complimentary drinks and are available via Eventbrite for £20.
Chris Brookmyre said: “Bookface Sip & Swaps have rapidly become one of my favourite events on the promotional calendar. It’s a privilege to spend time in a lively and convivial atmosphere, chatting to dozens of people united by their passion for books.”
