The College is proud to be custodian of a beautiful grand piano, gifted to the college by the Markson family. It was previously owned and played by the late Mrs Irene Markson, a concert pianist, who was a pivotal influence on the career of her son Richard Markson, whose wife (Mayumi Fujikawa) and son (Oliver Markson) are both also internationally-recognised musicians.
Irene’s husband, Dr Jack Markson, was a highly respected and distinguished consultant physician at Stobhill General Hospital, Glasgow, and a Fellow of the College.
The Markson family have kindly gifted this performance in aid of the Hope Foundation, and we are delighted to host their concert.
All proceeds from the event, minus costs, will support the Hope Foundation. The Foundation aims to encourage innovation and shared learning, leading to a huge difference in the provision of healthcare, especially when enacted with compassion.
Each ticket includes:
· Musical performance
· Canapés
· Glass of wine
· Donation to support the Hope Foundation
