Collecting and memorialising are intertwined. The Hunterian has collected and conserved the instrumentation and effects of Lord Kelvin in order to memorialise him, and it memorialises him precisely because it has collected so much of his stuff.
Join curator Nicky Reeves in exploring the material traces of Lord Kelvin and the uses to which they are put, from prototype instruments that show work in progress, to underwhelming memorabilia that has been treated almost as relics. This will be an opportunity to engage with The Hunterian's substantial collection of Kelvin material not usually on display in the Museum.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
