About Drawn To The Light
Working in oils and a mix of soft pastel, acrylic-ink and watercolour, both Ellis and Helen’s work is a visceral response to the ever-changing elements that occur in their surrounding environment. Based in Skye and Lochalsh they paint en plein air to fully immerse themselves into their surroundings come rain or shine.
Bursts of pure and vivid colour run throughout, emerging from rich, moody skies that capture the drama orchestrated by light. This exhibition holds two unique interpretations of the same landscape told in two distinct styles.
