From January through to December, a curated programme of inclusive, citywide events and activities will be delivered to reflect on how the city has transformed. The programme will:
• Reflect on the city's growth since 1975 when Glasgow 800 was celebrated
• Speed up ambitions for the future centred around tackling poverty and inequality and increasing prosperity and opportunity
• Continue our fight against the climate emergency
• Put the River Clyde at the centre of this storytelling
• Enhance Glasgow's reputation and brand at home and abroad
• Deliver memorable moments for our city's diverse communities
We will kick off the year with a spectacular concert as part of the world-renowned Celtic Connections in January, along with an enhanced St Mungo Festival programme, celebrating the city's patron saint.
Our Glasgow 850 Festival programme will see the city's much loved festivals adding Glasgow 850 content to their 2025 programme. From Glasgow Film Festival and Glasgow Comedy Festival at the beginning of the year through to TRNSMT, Glasgow Mela, Piping Live! and then our winter season beginning with GlasGlow, it will ensure there are as many ways as possible to engage across the year.
Our signature event programme will see the city celebrate heritage, food and music at key points in the year.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
