Sunday 7th September - Whittling
Bring to life wood found in the forest by carving unique creations! Try your hand at whittling. The old skill of making things from sticks using just a small knife. You'll be amazed at what you can create. All tools and instructions are provided and you will take home whatever you make.
Sunday 14th September - Bird Feeders
Make a bird feeder and help keep the birds healthy! Our feathered friends are thinking about the coming Winter. Come and make feeders with much needed birdy goodness to help keep them healthy as things turn cold!
Sunday 21st September - Mini Shelters and Homes for Gnomes
Make a cosy home for our small creatures. And perhaps for gnomes too! Our valuable and fascinating woods are home to many wild creatures. Some of them however need a bit of a helping hand when it comes to choosing a home. Come along on this family event and build wee homes in the Park for wee creatures and possibly gnomes, out of the natural resources we find along the way.
Sunday 28th September - Forest Art
Discover some of Mugdock's marvellous moths, mammals and minibeasts! Calling all active 8-12 year olds! Get involved in national surveys and spend the day learning all about the amazing wildlife that lives in Mugdock on this 5-hour adventure with the Ranger Service.
Sunday 5th October - Fabulous Orienteering Fun
Use a map and compass to find your way around Mugdock! On this family event, find your way around our lovely park with a map and compass, finding clues along the way to solve a conundrum. No experience necessary and all instruction will be given by the ranger.
Sunday 12th October - Musical Art
Create a tuneful family masterpiece using the beauty of nature! Use your creative streak to make wonderful artistic and musical creations, using natural resources found in our wonderful woodlands.
Sunday 19th October - Nature's Palette
Create a family masterpiece using the beauty of nature! Create fabulous bespoke art using nothing but what you find in our amazing woods.
Sunday 25th October - Bows and Arrows
Your survival depends on making a bow and arrows. Can you hit the target? Come with the family and make a bow and arrows from wood found in our wild places. Then try a bit of target practice and see how good you are, before taking it home with you.
