Cities are always changing. Buildings may seem solid and permanent, but they are fragile and easily destroyed, and once they have gone, it can be difficult to picture what they looked like.
Wednesday, 30th April - 5.15-6pm. Free, but ticketed. Please book here.
Hunterian curator Joseph Sharples will lead a Twilight Tour of a new Hunterian display in the Kelvin Hall Avenue, looking at three demolished Glasgow buildings and how we remember them: the Old College in the High Street, the 1888 International Exhibition building, and the house at 78 Southpark Avenue which was the last Glasgow home Charles Rennie Mackintosh and Margaret Macdonald Mackintosh. Each of these vanished buildings lives on in surprising ways in the collections of The Hunterian.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
