About The Neighbourhood Variety Show
The Neighbourhood Variety Show - Sauchiehall Street seeks to re-imagine the tradition of variety shows through inviting local people and performers to take to the stage in a celebration of one of Glasgow’s most famous promenades.
It seeks to transform the stage into a truly civic space where community can be felt, experienced, and celebrated by a diverse array of short performances made in collaboration with local people and frequent visitors.
The Neighbourhood Variety Show - Sauchiehall Street will take place at The Garage (G2) on 5 June 2025.
At its core, The Neighbourhood Variety Show is about re-negotiating the theatre as a site for community, connection, and care - creating a joyous space for people to come into contact with each other and an invigorated sense of civic spirit.
The Neighbourhood Variety Show is a performance project by Eoin McKenzie (Artist In Residence: Communities) as part of the National Theatre of Scotland’s Neighbourhood Project.

This co-commission is part of the development phase programme for Sauchiehall Street, funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund Heritage Places.
