The three student-run musical groups from the University of Strathclyde will present a range of tunes they have been working on this semester, and it promises to be a spectacular show.
Established in 1990, Strathclyde University Concert Band (SUCB) is composed of current students, staff, and alumni of the University, as well as students from other institutions. In recent years they have received prestigious awards at the National Concert Band Festival, the Scottish Concert Band Festival, and international events under the guidance of their Musical Director, Chris Mitchell, with the Spring Concert coming just weeks ahead of their trip to the NCBF National Festival in Manchester.
Formed in late 2012, the Strathclyde University Jazz Orchestra is a student-led, student-directed music ensemble dedicated to the performance of jazz, popular and contemporary music. Their performance at the Spring Concert comes ahead of the highly acclaimed headline gig at Cottiers later this year.
Strathclyde University Chorus is a non-audition group of enthusiastic singers who are committed to improving as a choir whilst maintaining a fun and welcoming atmosphere. They currently have around 40 student, staff, alumni and external members attending our two-hour weekly rehearsals from around the world.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
