To celebrate Glasgow’s 850th anniversary, students from Shawlands Academy’s Higher Photography and S3 Creative Industries classes teamed up with Glasgow Life Museums to celebrate by curating this touring display.
Visiting venues across the city over the coming months, starting with The Burrell Collection, the display features historic images of the city taken by amateur photographer Eric Watt (1934–2005), alongside photographs taken by the pupils showing the city today.
The students chose the Eric Watt photographs and wrote their own captions for them. Using these images as inspiration, the students then went out and took their own shots of the city now.
Check out the display at The Burrell Collection from Friday 13 June - Sunday 6 July.
