Celebrating the timeless sounds of the 60s and 70s, this all-dayer brings together top DJs, passionate dancers, and soul lovers for an unforgettable session in the heart of Glasgow’s East End. Expect talcum on the floor, original vinyl-only sets, and a community atmosphere that keeps the soul spirit alive!
Yogi’s been a face on the northern soul scene since 1976, and later the modern soul scene. A regular at most of the legendary niters including Clouds, Rotherham Clifton Hall, Morecambe Pier, Yate, Stafford, The Queens Hall in Bradford, Wigan Casino every week, Blackpool Mecca, The Ritz, and Allanton where Yogi also DJ'd. The Southport Weekenders, Mr Ms reunions in Wigan, and numerous other soul clubs have been regular gigs for Yogi, as well as his infamous MFSB club in Edinburgh where boogie, northern, jazz funk, modern soul and soulful house are on the menu. Now in its 14th year, MFSB demonstrates Yogi’s musical diversity and love for rare vinyl.
Baz started DJing at his local youth club in the late 80s but it was while living in Freiburg in the late 90s that he was indoctrinated into the underground world of Northern and Rare Soul in hushed tones by a Drum and Bass DJ from Yate. Fast forward 20 years and he’s been playing his regular residence in McChuills 'Spinning Out!' for some years, before starting West End Soul with Let’s Go Back crew! He buys his records from America and buzzes off nothing more than finding 60 or 70 year old 45s he’s never heard before. Expect Rare and Northern, songs you haven’t and have heard before (and everything in between) as well as unsolicited advice on buying records.
