Running from 6th to 28th September, Alison McWhirter returns to the gallery following the outstanding success of her 2021 and 2023 shows, with what is arguably her most personal and expressive collection to date.
This new body of work brings together the artist’s much-admired floral still-lifes with bold abstract compositions inspired by poetry and her immediate surroundings.
The result is a celebration of colour in full bloom, with fresh vertical formats that create rhythm, intimacy, and a lasting emotional resonance. Each canvas invites close attention - joyful, vibrant, and quietly profound. Often named as one of the new Scottish Colourists, Alison McWhirter is a painter of rare talent and we warmly encourage you to experience this exhibition in person, where the texture, depth, and emotional charge of her paintings can truly be felt.
‘Colours of Love’ at Annan Gallery Glasgow from 6 to 28th September. www.annanart.com, 164 Woodlands Road, Glasgow, G3 6LL. Gallery open from Tuesday to Sunday.
