About Aye Write: Art Deco Scotland: Design and Architecture in the Jazz Age: Bruce Peter

Art Deco may have originated in Paris and New York of the 1920s, but its influence quickly spread far beyond these sophisticated metropolises.

In Art Deco Scotland: Design and Architecture in the Jazz Age, Professor Bruce Peter (Glasgow School of Art) explores the remarkable range of Art Deco objects and images created right here in Scotland.

From iconic structures such as the Beresford Hotel, the Radio Cinema in Kilbirnie, and the Portobello Lido, to the Tower of Empire in Glasgow and the Clyde-built Queen Mary, discover how the Art Deco movement brought its inspiration to our shores and left its mark on our architects and architecture.
