About Aye Write: Words from Whaleback City: Andy Jackson & Bill Herbert
Whaleback City Press is Dundee's new and vibrant small publisher, specialising in big ideas in small packages. This event showcases work from its first two projects; firstly, Sonnet Chains, three sequences of linked poems from some of UK poetry's biggest names addressing contemporary political and social issues - Strike Sonnets (published 2024), Peace Sonnets (2025) and Eco Sonnets (forthcoming in 2026).
Secondly, Selling the Light, a collaboration between poet Andy Jackson and street photographer Catia Montagna, featuring 34 photographs from urban settings across Europe accompanied by short but powerful poems. The event features poets W. N. Herbert and Andy Jackson plus visuals from Catia Montagna.
